What's New

Tuesday, 28 August, 2007: added to the Birthday Calculator horoscope based lucky number, lucky days, lucky dates, ruling planet, opposition numbers and opposition sign.

More to come!

Monday, 18 June 2007: I haven't been online for a while now. I'm still not really back. I'm in a temporary residence using a dial-in account and a small ancient laptop to get online (10" display!). I hope to be back full-time on the desktop with a broadband connection, answering emails, updating and adding new features to The Birthday Calculator and Names pages in mid-July.

The short version of the story is that on 3 April 2007 I decided I needed help with a bad flareup of a chronic intestinal problem. In effect, the hospital said nevermind that, the heart failure will kill you first!

If you are interested in a bit more detail you can read my blog entries I'm Not Dead, Yet! parts 1, 2 & 3 here.

Sunday, 17 December 2006: I've added a new feature to the What Your Name Means page. It now includes the meaning of your first name. If your name isn't in the database then this item will not be displayed, but the database contains tens of thousands of names so there's a good chance it is in there.

Right now this is considered an experimental feature and may be withdrawn later if it causes excessive bandwidth usage or slows down the page loads or site too much.

Monday, 21 August, 2006: Add the Top 10 Songs of Your Birth Year to the Birthday Calculator. Each song is linked to Amazon so that you can preview or purchase the songs if you like.
Wednesday, 2 August, 2006: At certain times of the day you may be redirected to a second server when you use the Birthday Calculator. This happens transparently and you may not even notice it, but as long as it is you know it's OK and that it is still the one and only Birthday Calculator. This is being done to minimize excess bandwidth usage charges of thousands of dollars per month. (I'm not kidding. Thousands of dollars per month.)

Tuesday, 25 July, 2006: Added the date of your birthday according to the Hebrew calendar to the Birthday Calculator.

Also I've partnered with Microsoft/Hotmail to offer you free email accounts under the domain name

These are Hotmail accounts with 250MB of space and eventually 2GB when transitioned to Windows Live Mail but unlike a normal Hotmail account your email address will be For example, you could be where YourName is any name of your choice.

You can find the links to sign-up on the Birthday Calculator page or on my site's main page.

I've added a free reminder service from Grow Flowers. This is a totally free service that will send you reminders of events of your choosing. I've dealt with Grow Flowers for a while and trust them to maintain your privacy.

There's a graphic on the bottom of the Birthday Calculator results page where you can sign up or you can click on this link, Reminder Service.

Tuesday, 11 July, 2006: Added celebrity birthdays to the Birthday Calculator. See which celebrities you share a birth date with.
Monday, 10 July, 2006: Added a pop-up window which displays the Chinese Zodiac symbol.
Friday, 7 July, 2006: Add statistics for Australia  to the Birthday Calculator.
Wednesday, 21 June, 2006: Added your Native American Zodiac to the Birthday Calculator. Also added the Egyptian Month and Season of your birth.
Monday, 12 June, 2006: I've created an MSN Space called Paul Sadowski's Birthday Calculator Space. It's located at

The purpose of the space is to serve as both a blog in which I can post comments on the messages I've received about the calculator, and for you to post your own public comments, thoughts and questions. You may continue, if you like, to send me private messages via the Feedback links on this site.

To post on the Spaces blog you will need a Passport/Hotmail/Windows Live account. Many of you surely do but they are easy to obtain if you don't. I'm sorry to have to take this approach but inconsiderate spammers were posting tons and tons of spam to the old message board which not only cluttered the board but required I go in and delete them one by one. It just not worth the effort or having you all subjected to the spam. So, again, my apologies but this seems the best solution given the nature of the Internet today.

Thank you all once again for your patience and continued support.

Monday, 12 June, 2006: I've updated the Get Google Videos script in the Scripting/WSH section. Google made a change that needed to be reflected in the script. All the script example should work just fine now.
Friday, 7 April, 2006: The site is now totally on the new host. The domain name has been moved to a new registrar and the new host's DNS servers. Some email may bounce as the new DNS propagates through the system.
Tuesday, 28 March, 2006: The hosting service,, has refused to offer any explanation of why this and other sites have been bandwidth throttled resulting in only about 20% of those attempting to access the site being able to. Pressing them for an explanation and to live up to their contractual obligation to provide the services contracted and paid for, their response was to cancel this account. The site is now ready on another host. I'm just waiting for to transfer the domain to the new registrar. Parts of the site are already on the new host thanks to a bit of background magic on my part.

For the record, this site used about 40% of the allowed bandwidth at the time I signed up with 1and1. raised those limits three times to what is frankly an absurd amount such that this site now uses only 2% of the allowed bandwidth. So at no time in the past nine months has this site even once exceeded allowed bandwidth usage or disk space usage. We can only assume since 1and1 has refused to explain the  throttle that they raised the limits to an absurd level as an advertising gimmick to attract new signups. Perhaps they oversold the servers and are now throttling sites in violation of their terms and contract. We will never know exactly what happened because they refuse to explain.

What is clear is that they by their actions, by their failure to live up to the terms of the contract they have willfully injured this site, its owner and you the users.

Webmasters considering 1and1 hosting should beware.

Thursday, 23 March, 2006: Trying to get 1And1, the hosting service, to deal with the "Service Unavailable" issue. They aren't very communicative. I don't know if things are working now or not. It's 2 AM EST (NY Time) and things seem to be OK but then it might just be the low traffic at this time of day. I apologize to those who couldn't get through but there's little I can do but hound the hosting service to fix their problem. Keep your fingers crossed!
Sunday, 12 March, 2006: added date of Orthodox Easter to the birthday calculator.
Monday, 27 February, 2006: added Life Path compatibility numbers to the birthday calculator.

Monday, 5 February, 2006: added links on the Names and birthday calculator pages to display a popup with a printer friendly version of your data containing no ads or other extraneous information. This features requires scripting be enabled and you must allow the popup window.

Monday, 23 January, 2006: added the dates of Rosh Hashanah and Passover for the birth year, and several fixed date holidays that show up only on birthdays matching that date, for example, the Feast of Oggun and the Feast of Chango  to the birthday calculator.
Wednesday, December 21, 2005: added the dates of Ash Wednesday, Whitsun (Pentecost Sunday) and Whitsuntide to the birthday calculator.
